Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This privacy policy applies between you, the User of this website, and WasteRound Ltd ("WasteRound", "we", "us", or "our"), the owner and operator of this website. WasteRound takes the privacy of your information seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you visit our website, request a quote, book a service, or otherwise interact with us.
This policy should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions. Please read it carefully.
1. Definitions and Interpretation
In this policy, the following definitions apply:
• "Data" — collectively, all information you submit to us or that we collect via the website, our forms, our checkout system, telephone, email, or any other means.
• "Cookies" — small text files placed on your device when you visit certain parts of our website or use certain features. See Section 8 (Cookies) for detail.
• "Data Protection Laws" — UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), together with any amending or replacement legislation.
• "Services" — our waste collection, clearance, and recycling services, including on-demand rubbish removal, house/office clearance, bulky waste collection, and recurring commercial trade waste collection.
• "User" or "you" — any person who accesses the website, requests a quote, or uses our Services.
• "Website" — wasteround.co.uk and any sub-domains, unless covered by their own separate terms.
2. Who We Are
WasteRound Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17425036, with registered office at:
Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU, England
For the purposes of Data Protection Laws, WasteRound Ltd is the data controller of the personal data described in this policy — we decide why and how your data is processed.
WasteRound operates:
• On-demand waste removal across London and Greater London, inside the M25 — including bulky furniture removal (sofas, chairs, tables, mattresses, wardrobes), general household waste, garden waste, builders'/construction waste, appliance and electronics (WEEE) removal, fridge removal, and hazardous waste removal.
• Recurring commercial trade waste collection for small businesses in Harrow, Barnet, and surrounding NW postcodes.
3. What Data We Collect
We may collect the following categories of Data, depending on how you interact with us:
• a) Quote and enquiry data — when you use our "Get a Quote" form or otherwise contact us, we collect your email address, phone number, the type of enquiry, your service postcode, a description of the job, and your preferred timing.
• b) Booking and order data — when you book a Service or build a quote through our website's item selector, we collect the items or services selected, the collection address, and your contact details.
• c) Account data — if you register for an account with us (for example, to manage a recurring commercial collection subscription), we collect and store the details needed to set up and administer that account, such as your name, contact details, service address, and login credentials.
• d) Payment data — see Section 4 below.
• e) Data collected automatically — when you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical data, including your IP address, browser and device type, the date and time of your visit, and how you interact with our site. Some of this is collected via cookies — see Section 8.
• f) Waste Transfer documentation — under the Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations, when we collect waste from you we are required to produce a Waste Transfer Note or equivalent record. This typically includes your name, the collection address, a description of the waste, and the relevant European Waste Catalogue (EWC) code.
We do not knowingly collect data from children, and our Services are intended for business and adult residential customers only.
4. How We Collect and Process Payment
Depending on the Service, you may pay us in one of the following ways:
• Online checkout — where you pay through our website, your card payment is processed securely by our third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number or card security code on our own servers.
• Off-site payment — for example, by bank transfer, invoice, or in person, in which case we collect only what is necessary to process and record that payment, such as your name, an invoice reference, and confirmation of payment received.
5. How We Use Your Data
We use your Data for the following purposes, on the following legal bases:
• Performance of a contract — to provide you with a quote, arrange a collection, deliver our Services, manage your account or subscription, and process payment.
• Legitimate interests — for internal record keeping, to improve our Services and website, to prevent fraud and spam, and to maintain the Waste Transfer records we are legally required to keep. You have the right to object to processing carried out on this basis — see Section 11 (Your Rights).
• Legal obligation — to meet our obligations under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Duty of Care Regulations, and tax/accounting law.
• Consent — for marketing communications where required. If you have previously used our Services or asked us about a Service, we may contact you about similar Services on a "soft opt-in" basis unless you tell us not to. For any other direct marketing by email, we will ask for your clear, affirmative consent first. You can withdraw consent at any time — see Section 11.
6. Who We Share Your Data With
We share Data only where necessary, with:
• Payment providers, to process card payments securely.
• Waste transfer and disposal sites, as required to fulfil our Duty of Care obligations when handing over collected waste.
• IT, hosting, and software service providers who help us run our website, forms, and booking system, acting on our instructions.
• Professional advisers, regulators, or authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
7. Environment Agency Registration
WasteRound Ltd is registered with the Environment Agency as an upper tier waste carrier, broker and dealer. Our registration number is CBDU658406 (registered 12 September 2026, valid until 12 September 2029).
You can verify any waste carrier's registration at: environment.data.gov.uk/public-register
8. Cookies
Our website may place the following types of cookies on your device:
• Essential/strictly necessary cookies — required for core site functions, such as remembering the items in your quote basket and keeping your checkout session secure. These cannot be switched off without affecting how the site works.
• Analytics and marketing cookies — we may use tools such as Google Analytics or advertising pixels to understand how visitors use our site and to inform our marketing. Where we use any such cookies, you will be shown a cookie consent banner and asked for your permission before any non-essential cookie is set, in line with UK PECR requirements.
You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect your ability to get a quote or check out.
9. Keeping Your Data Secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your Data, including:
• account access controlled by a username and password, where applicable;
• data stored on secure servers;
• card payment details encrypted and handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your Data has been compromised or misused, please contact us immediately at enquiries@wasteround.co.uk.
10. Data Retention
We retain your Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, including:
• Waste Transfer Note records for non-hazardous waste, kept for the statutory minimum period under Duty of Care Regulations (currently two years);
• Hazardous waste consignment note records, kept for the statutory minimum period (currently three years), since hazardous waste uses a consignment note rather than a standard Waste Transfer Note;
• financial and invoicing records, kept in line with UK tax and accounting requirements (currently six years);
• quote and enquiry data, kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, or until you ask us to delete it.
Even after deletion, your Data may persist for a short time on backup systems for legal or technical reasons.
11. Your Rights
Under Data Protection Laws, you have the right to:
• Access — request a copy of the Data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete Data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your Data, subject to our legal obligations (for example, we may need to retain Waste Transfer or financial records).
• Restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your Data.
• Data portability — ask us to provide or transfer your Data in a portable format.
• Object — object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
• Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at enquiries@wasteround.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your Data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
12. Links to Other Websites
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites, and this policy does not extend to them.
13. Changes of Business Ownership
If WasteRound Ltd is sold, merged, or otherwise transfers all or part of its business, your Data may be transferred to the new owner, who will be bound by the terms of this policy (or a successor policy that continues to protect your Data appropriately).
14. Compliance
This policy is designed to comply with:
• UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR)
• Data Protection Act 2018
• Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR)
• Environmental Protection Act 1990 and associated Duty of Care Regulations
15. General
This policy is governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes relating to it are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts. If any part of this policy is found invalid or unenforceable, the remainder will continue to apply in full.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our website or Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
